Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of dChef — the mobile app and the services behind it. By using dChef, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What dChef is

dChef is a personal AI cooking assistant. It scans your fridge or pantry, tracks what's in your kitchen, and recommends and generates recipes based on that inventory, your stated goals, and your cooking history. Nutrition figures shown in the app are estimates generated from recipe data and are not medical or dietary advice — dChef is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified professional, especially if you have a medical condition, allergy, or specific dietary requirement.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You can use dChef with or without creating an account. If you sign in, you're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use dChef.

3. AI-generated content

Recipes, ingredient identifications, and step instructions in dChef may be generated or assisted by AI models. We work to make this output useful and accurate, but AI can make mistakes — always use your own judgment on food safety, cooking temperatures, and ingredients you may be allergic to. Verify anything that matters to your health before relying on it.

4. Your content

Photos you scan, and anything you post to dChef's community (posts, comments, ratings), remain yours. By posting to the community, you grant us a license to store and display that content to other users within the app, since that's the point of the feature. Don't post content that's illegal, infringing, or that you don't have the right to share, and don't use the community to harass other users or post spam.

5. dChef Pro and subscriptions

Some features are available only to dChef Pro subscribers. Subscriptions are billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and are subject to their respective terms, refund policies, and auto-renewal rules. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your app store account at any time; canceling stops future renewals but doesn't retroactively refund the current period unless the app store requires otherwise.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use dChef for anything illegal, or to infringe someone else's rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload our services
• Impersonate another person or misuse community features to mislead others
• Circumvent subscription limits or paywalls through unauthorized means

7. Availability

dChef is under active development. Features, recommendations, and the app's design may change over time. We aim for reliable service but don't guarantee dChef will always be available or error-free.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

dChef is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including from reliance on AI-generated recipes, nutrition estimates, or ingredient identifications. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

9. Termination

You can stop using dChef at any time, and delete your account or local data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use dChef after a change means you accept the updated terms.
